LONG-TERM EMPLOYMENT SUCCESS!
- In the past ten years PPL has helped over 700 people obtain living wage jobs with benefits and the opportunity to career ladder. In 2007 TTW has new business partners and plans to help a record number of people obtain long-term employment success.
- Since 1998, PPL has been proud to have an 80% retention rate for 18 months after hire, meaning that 80% of our graduates who obtain jobs with our partner businesses are still there a minimum of 1 ½ years later! (Much longer usually—we only track for18mos)
Project for Pride in Living (PPL)
Brief Overview:
The PPL Career Program starts with 2-4 weeks of paid training and is designed to help meet the staffing needs of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Childrens Hospital, Hennepin County Medical Center, North Memorial Hospital, Educational Credit Management Corporation, Allina Commons (Allina’s corporate offices), Metropolitan Health Plan and U.S. Bank. Trainees are prepared for long-term success in the workplace through training in career development, soft skills, computers and job shadowing at one of our business partners. For 12- 18 months after training Retention Specialists help participants position themselves in jobs paying $10-$14 or more per hour, plus benefits and an opportunity to develop a career.
(Trainees are hired during training by PPL and receive a training wage.)
