Speaking the Same Language & Negotiating Generational Differences in the Work Place
Wednesday, February 11, 2009
11:00 am - 1:30 pm
Corporate cultures are now comprised of many different generations and styles all of which view life and work differently. The most recent part of the mix is the up coming millennial generation. The millennial generation (young people currently and approximately 18-28 years old) is all the talk of Corporate America. Being a generation nearly twice as large as its predecessor, Gen X, in six years it will comprise at least 40% of the workforce in America. Millennials are changing the face of business everywhere.
This new generation is "demanding" a different work style, and they aren't afraid to speak out to get what they want. However, some view them as lazy and entitled. This generation of workers, when passionate about their work, are innovative, highly productive, and loyal. In this presentation, by fahrenHEIGHT360, we'll have a discussion about the realities and styles of all the different generations, how they can work effectively together and how to integrate the upcoming Millennials into the mix. Come and join us for a very informative and exciting presentation.

Terese Corey Blanck, M.Ed
fahrenHEIGHT360
Terese Corey Blanck, M.Ed. offers unique expertise in the “up and coming generation” combined with in-depth knowledge of entry-level business employment needs.
For the past 20 years, Terese has worked closely with college students and recent graduates helping them identify their innate talents and desires, plan their educational and career paths, and enhance both their personal development and career employability.
After receiving her Master's of Education in College Student Development from Colorado State University, Terese spent the next 12 years working for small private universities as well as large public universities in the area of Student Affairs. She then joined the private sector coaching college students and recent grads in career & vocational exploration.
Terese was inspired to launch College to Career, Inc. when she opened and managed the Minneapolis office of a specialty-niche staffing firm that matched recent college graduates with employers such as Target, Wells Fargo, and Best Buy. Through this work, she discovered that many recent graduates leave college not knowing what they want to do, much less having prepared themselves for the world of work. In response to this unmet need, Terese founded College to Career, Inc. to offer students and their parents a means for making decisions with direction during college—so they succeed after college. She continues her work in the private sector as a Director of Strategic Partnerships for fahrenHEIGHT360, an Entry Level Talent Management Company based in the Twin Cities.
